This service is particularly useful if you are moving or liquidating an estate and have a large inventory of items to be appraised.
For items, estates, and collections of extremely high value, we can recommend the best auction house for items you are selling. We have professional, long-standing relationships with most major auction firms throughout the U.S. we can guide you through the negotiation process to ensure you receive the most favorable rate and establish the proper reserve on your behalf. Please note that we charge a nominal 5% fee based on the final “hammer price.”
If you would prefer to consign specific items, we can make recommendations on which items we are willing to take on a consignment basis. Our consignment commission rate is 20%. We are fully insured in the event of any loss. Once the items sell, full payment is made to you within 45 days. We can also recommend items that would qualify and benefit from certification and grading with a 3rd party certified grading service. We are authorized dealers for PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service), NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company), and PMG (Paper Money Guaranty). As authorized dealers for these services, we can assist you in obtaining the certifications that add value to your items.
PGS Appraisers will schedule to meet with you at the location of your safety deposit box. All contents of your safety deposit box that is to be appraised will be organized & cataloged by an expert PGS coin & jewelry appraiser. Photos may be taken for research purposes. All necessary information is collected and taken back to the main offices of PGS, located in Palatine. Depending on the size & quantity of your collection, you will be billed $250 per hour, and a comprehensive written appraisal will be provided to you.

Travel fees are charged beginning from the PGS main office located in Palatine, to the client location, and end upon the completion of the appraisal.
When air travel is required clients are billed for PGS travel via business class and all moderate lodging/hotel accommodations.
